Since 2013, we've developed and transformed young passionate speakers into national competitors who thrive in local, regional and national tournaments such as Georgetown, Harvard, and Stanford and the TOC National Tournament Series.
Harvard Deabte Council: Operated in official partnership with the Harvard Debate Council, NAVI provides the tools you need to take your learning to the next level.
Awards & Recognition:
NAVI students participate in competitions during the year and join our summer camp to strengthen their skills and prepare for the season.
As students grow, they develop life-long skills in communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.
National & Regional Debate Tournaments:
Students can join up to 9 national debate tournaments, up to 8 regional debate tournaments, and multiple virtual & in-person tournaments. Including debate tournaments at Harvard, Georgetown, Stanford, TOC, and Lakeland.
NAVI Leadership & Volunteer/Community Service:
Students participating in active NAVI leadership (President, VP, Captain, Treasurer, Secretary).
We offer several volunteer and community services through the NAVI partnership.
Exact details will vary based on student experience, but this is designed for beginners. Students will be provided with core materials.
All classes run from 6:30-7:30 ET on Tuesday. The first and last day are 6:30-8:30 PM ET.

Founder of DebateUS and former Debate Coach for the Harvard Debate Council (2004-2015), Stefan was instrumental in the development of Public Forum debate in China and has supported programs in the Dominican Republic, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.
Johnny Thompson is a second-year Harvard Law student and a graduate of Yale University. Actively coaching international written debate competitions. He has been coaching with our program for 3 years.
Jazmine Pickens is the Assistant Director of the Harvard Debate Council. She has been a coach at the HDC since 2019 after graduating from the University of Oklahoma and became the Assistant Director in January 2023.
Currently coaching and teaching for Lewis & Clark, former director at the University of Wyoming. Coach of NDT and CEDA elimination round teams, parliamentary debate champions, public forum and LD tournament winners and state champions, and successful public forum teams. Lecturer, lab leader, and director at dozens of summer debate institutes.
